BEARS ARE ON HOLD

For those of you who stop by on occasion to visit my blog, I want to let you know I won't be posting any new bears for a while.  I had an accident and fractured my arm and my shoulder so it has to heal and then there will be physio : o(  I am hoping all goes well, now that they have identified the issues and I will be back as soon as I can.  In the mean time, I'm posting a picture of the newest acquisition to my own hug - he's doing a brilliant job of keeping me company and cheering me up :o) but he hasn't got a name yet - any suggestions?

RAZZLE DAZZLE THE CLOWN

Wow, two posts in two days - that's the first in a very long time :o)  I've finished the second bear that I've been working on for weeks.  His name is Razzle Dazzle and he is one of my clowns.  He is make from semi sparse German Shulte mohair and he has been aged and shaded to give him vintage appeal.
Razzle Dazzle is 6 1/4 inches tall, fully disc jointed, stuffed with excelsior and steel shot for an antique feel.  His eyes are German amber glass and his sparse nose is waxed.  Razzle Dazzle has a few bald spots, along with tiny holes in his aged, wool felt paw pads, where his excelsior shows through.

Razzle Dazzle is wearing a wool felt clown hat and a matching organza ruffle, that have also been aged.  They are both removable, if for some reason he tires of being a clown.  If you are interested in Razzle Dazzle or have any questions, just drop me an email. Shipping to most places in North America is $15.00 and overseas shipping Europe is $15.00.  All other destinations to be determined. I hope you like him and thanks for stopping by.
SOLD

Poor Honey felt a little under-dressed when she saw the lovely clown outfit for Razzle Dazzle, so to humor her, I let her try it on - she looks pretty cute.  If anyone would be interested in Honey, with a clown outfit instead, I would be happy to make one for her.

A TINY TREASURE

I have had this kit for a few years, and had always planned on making it up as an accessory for one of my bears.  However, after spending countless hours painting and adding stands to the animals, and a ramp for them to go up into the Ark, I'm thinking of keeping it. The Ark is approximately 1 1/2 inches x 1 1/4 inches and the animals range from 2/3 inches (giraffes) down to 1/8 inches (bunnies)  I have two more kits, but it will be a while before I do this again lol!  Hope you enjoy this tiny treasure.

A NEW RABBIT!

I have finally managed to finish an order for a dear customer in the Netherlands.  Sir Pembleton Rabbit should be winging his way over to Europe very soon.  He has taken me a very long time due to shoulder problems and tendonitis in my upper arm, from stuffing.  However, I am VERY pleased with this little fellow and think he will enjoy living in Europe, something I've always wanted to do lol!

Sir Pembleton is 6 1/3 inches tall and is fully disc jointed, and has wired arms.  He has lovely German amber glass eyes, and been meticulously painted with many layers of permanent fabric paints.  He wears leather shoes, with wooden soles and a long blue coat .  He has a leather satchel and a rabbit cane, made from Fimo and covered in silver leaf.  I like to make my toys reminiscent of the old vintage ones and I love to think of them being around a century from now.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy Sir Pembleton.

FEBRUARY BLUES

Well, February is here again and it's time for my yearly slump, *sigh*.  I have orders to fill and I am trying so hard to plug away at them but I have absolutely no ambition.

In November, when hubby retired, I pushed myself to finish several bears for an online show and it was a mistake.  It has affected my left arm and shoulder and even after 3 months, it is not completly healed.  If I try to stuff more than a couple of bear parts in an evening, I can feel the strain, so here I sit.

We have also had more snow this year than in the past few years, with more scheduled for this week. Winter seems to be dragging on and on  Oh well, the days are getting longer and soon spring will be here.   Maybe the sunshine will help  - wish me luck :o)

EAMON McDONOGAL

I have just finished a bigger bear - 7 1/3 inches.  I really like this size but it's hard on my arm to stuff them, so I don't make too many.  I hope you like him.

EAMON McDONOGAL is made from hand dyed, antique mohair.  I love how it turned out!  It had some age to to, but I have distressed a wee bit more, exposing small, bald patches he might have had, if he had been loved by a child.  Eamon is 7 1/2 inches tall with amber German glass eyes, sparse waxed nose and distressed, wool felt paw pads.  His is stuffed very firmly with excelsior and weighted with stainless steel shot.  He has a nice feel, when picked up.

Eamon is wearing a hand made cotton jacket, with aged steel buttons.  He is very proud of his Celtic heritage and proudly wears his badge with a celtic symbol, made from etched brass.  His jacket is also aged and distress, with small rips and holes.  The jacket is removable.  Eamon is a collectible and not meant for children.  He is completely designed and made by me, Brenda Power.  His shipping to the continental U.S. is $15.00 by courier and also $15.00 to most places in Europe.  Thanks for dropping by and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
